State Farm Bank Gift Cards can be purchased online. Cards are not available for purchase in State Farm® Agents' offices.
How many cards can I purchase and how much value can I load on them? [back to top]
In order to protect against potential fraudulent card activity, State Farm Bank limits the number cards purchased per day to five cards. Also, the maximum value that can be loaded on one card is $500. The maximum total purchase per day (including card fees and express shipping) is $1,100.
When will the card be shipped? [back to top]
If you select "First Class" delivery, the Card will be shipped by the United States Postal Service and is typically delivered in 7 to 10 business days.
If you choose "Express" delivery, the Card will be shipped via FedEx and is typically delivered in 2 to 3 business days.
Is the State Farm Bank Visa Gift Card a credit Card? [back to top]
No. The State Farm Bank Visa Gift Card is a prepaid Visa Card that carries a fixed amount determined by the giver at the time of purchase on the Card. Each time the gift Card recipient uses the Card, the purchase amount is deducted from the available balance.

The Card can be used wherever Visa debit is accepted, in retail stores, over the phone, and online.
Restaurants or salons? [back to top]
Most restaurants and salons temporarily add approximately 20% to your bill to cover the tip. Make sure your balance can accommodate the additional 20% or your transaction may be declined.
Gas stations? [back to top]
It is recommended that you always pay at the counter inside.Tell the operator how much you want taken from your Card up to the remaining Card balance.
Online purchases? [back to top]
Be sure to register your Card at www.sfgiftcard.com before you attempt an online purchase as most online merchants will perform an address check to make sure the address on the Card matches the billing address you entered. Merchants may also ask for the 3-digit code which you can find on the back of the Card.
Why was my purchase declined? [back to top]
The Card's available balance is probably less than the purchase amount. You may inform the merchant of the remaining balance on the Card and use another form of payment to pay the difference, subject to the policy of the merchant. Also, please be aware that use of the State Farm Bank Visa Gift Card at some merchants - for example, some restaurants, mail-order companies, spas and salons - requires the Card have an available balance greater than the purchase amount to ensure sufficient funds for tips or incidental expenses.

How do split transactions work? [back to top]
If you wish to use the Card for a purchase which is greater than the balance of the funds available on the Card, you must first inform the merchant before completing the transaction. The merchant will require payment for the difference in cash or some other means of payment. Some merchants may not accept split transactions. If you fail to inform the merchant prior to completing the transaction, the Card may be declined. If you authorize a transaction and then fail to make a purchase of that item as planned, the approval may result in a hold for that amount of funds for up to three (3) days.
Will my Card lose value if I don't use it? [back to top]
Yes. If there is no activity on the card for 12 months, we will begin assessing a Monthly Maintenance Fee of $2.50 each month until the balance on the Card reaches $0.00.

What happens if I don't use all of the funds on the Card before the expiration? [back to top]
The Card will expire at the end of the month printed on the Card. After the expiration date, the Card may no longer be used, however, you may liquidate the card by calling toll-free 1-866-215-4237.

Online gambling and pay at the pump transactions will be declined.
What do I do when the funds on the Card are used up? [back to top]
You may keep the Card as a memento of your gift or you may destroy the Card once the remaining funds have been used for purchases.
Can items purchased with the Card be returned for credit? [back to top]
Items purchased with the Card can be returned for credit per store return policy. The return credit may take up to three to seven days to be reflected on the Card. Check your balance regularly to determine when your Card has been credited for the return.
What happens if my Card is lost or stolen? [back to top]
Immediately report any problems or a lost or stolen Card by calling 1-866-215-4237. A replacement Card will be issued if you provide the Card number and any available balance will be transferred to the new Card, less a $10.00 Replacement Card Fee that will be deducted from the Card's available balance.
